Monday River Float
*Note: This after-party is an independent event, not included in the Tree City Tango pass or affiliated with Tango Boise. It is not organized, led, or supervised by Tango Boise in any way, and this page is solely for the purposes of informing interested parties about an event that can be done in Boise. Participation is entirely at your own risk.
Want to cool off after an intense weekend of dancing AND experience some of Boise's nature, ALL without leaving the city? Have we got the after-party for you: floating the Boise River!

Picture this: You’re kicked back in a raft, feet up with a can in your hand. The sun is hot; the river is cool and calm. You close your eyes and tune into the river’s rushing sounds – smooth, steady, soothing. You blink your eyes open to the clear blue sky as you hear the river getting louder ahead.

Readjusting, you grab your paddle and get ready, like an Old West cowboy saddling up, ready to ride. Raft in position, can secured, you slide through the drop in the river. A woosh of clean, clear water spills into your lap. Refreshed, you settle back into your only duties for the two-hour raft ride: chill, sip, paddle, repeat.

The plan:
-
12:00 PM: Plan to arrive at Ann Morrison park, the end point. This park is a 5 minute drive from the venue, for reference.
-
Take a shuttle to the start point, Barber Park. The shuttles run every 20 minutes.
-
Rent a water craft from the rental shop located at Barber park (single person inner tube, group raft, 2 person kayak, etc.)
-
1:00 PM: We launch en masse and start floating.
-
4:00 PM: We'll take-out at Ann Morrison park, where there are locations to return your rentals.
-
The float will take about three hours. There are a few light rapids, but nothing serious. You'll be able to relax, sip on a beverage, and form mega-flotillas with the other festival tubers.

Details are still being formed, but we'll likely facilitate a forum for ride-sharing to/from the put-in area

NOTE: The cost of the after-party is not included in the festival pass. The watercraft rental is between $18 and $75 (single-person tube or group raft) and the shuttle is $4/person.
