Covid Safety Policy
Tree City Tango is an event by Tango Boise Inc., a registered 501c3 and qualified non-profit corporation. Upon registering, participants are required to read, accept, and agree to the Tango Boise, Inc. Release, Waiver of Liability and Indemnity Agreement (“Release”) and our Health, Safety, & Conduct, and Photo & Video Policy, and to our COVID Safety Policy (this page).
We reserve the right to institute additional safety protocols (testing, masks, etc.) as appropriate at the time of the event.
We can't wait until COVID is more manageable and special safety precautions aren't needed. But until then, we need to implement policies to ensure everyone can both feel safe and enjoy the event to the fullest.
Before the Event
Vaccine requirement: To complete registration you will need to provide proof of up-to-date vaccination which means a person has received all recommended COVID-19 vaccines, including any booster dose(s) when eligible. For Tree City Tango this means two shots of Moderna/Pfizer or one shot of J&J and at least one booster. A person is considered “boosted” and up to date right after getting their booster dose. For more information on staying up-to-date, visit the CDC website.
We are all vax'd and boosted and are doing our part to keep COVID hospitalization numbers low. In Boise, Idaho, COVID Community Levels are at a LOW level (per CDC data tracker), so we are not requiring mandatory tests or masks. However, as we have people coming from all over the country, we do have some recommendations and suggestions.
MASKS: We will be providing K-95 masks for those wanting to wear a mask or for those who wish to have one on hand to wear while dancing (with another masked dancer as a courtesy). We also encourage mask wearing while traveling on airplanes or other public transportation.
TESTING: We strongly suggest that you take a home antigen test or PCR test, if any of these apply to you:
traveled internationally in the last 7 days.
traveled to or live in an area with high COVID Community Levels (per the CDC COVID data tracker). If you are not sure of your community level, please check here:
attended a large indoor event (50 people +) in the last 7 days.
have had close contact with someone who recently tested positive for COVID or suspects they have COVID.
feel unwell or have recently tested positive for COVID.
Please let us know if you have a positive COVID test result. We offer full refunds up until the day of the event (June 9). After June 9, we can give you a credit to next year's Tree City Tango.
AFTER THE FESTIVAL: If you are going to be around anyone after the Tree City Tango festival weekend who is immunocompromised or elderly, please take extra precautions by testing and/or mask wearing.
